In 1969 Ultra Tool & Manufacturing was founded by Lloyd Hansen with the idea of creating high quality tooling with premier equipment. His strong commitment to the newest technology helped develop Ultra as a leader in Wisconsin’s metal stamping industry. Ultra began to form key working relationships with in-state companies such as Harley-Davidson and Briggs & Stratton.
Then in 1988 Terry Hansen, Lloyd’s son, became the owner after spending eight years in various manufacturing and leadership roles within the organization. He has continued his father’s strong commitment to technology and led Ultra into laser machining and a larger facility to accommodate new equipment. Ultra is currently located in a 135,000 square foot building that includes a Training Center for Advanced Learning and an 800-ton punch press as well. Expanding employees’ abilities and knowledge along with premier equipment has taken Ultra into new markets and customers beyond Wisconsin.
